UAE and China to boost trade, investment ties further

Dubai Business News — The UAE and China have stressed the importance of boosting trade, tourism and investment between themselves.

This was disclosed in a meeting held by Abdullah Ahmad Al Saleh, Under-secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Trade, with the Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade Affairs, Luo Jiang, on the sidelines of the 110 Canton Fair 2011, which opened yesterday.

Al Saleh is heading the UAE trade delegation to the fair, which will end on Thursday.
The Chinese minister welcomed the UAE delegation, saying the participation of the UAE in the event reflected its interest to enhance trade and economic ties with China, and strengthen relations between the exporters and importers in both countries.

Al Saleh thanked China and the organisers of the event for their hospitality and added that China has ranked second on the list of the UAE's foreign trade partners since 2003. He expected a 24 per cent growth in trade between the UAE and China due to expansions in trade exchanges and economic growth in both countries. He said the UAE is a portal for Chinese products to the Middle East. .
