Prince Alwaleed tops list of 50 most influential Arabs

Dubai Business News  — Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) Chairman Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has been ranked No.1 in Middle East’s Magazine’s 2011 list of the world’s 50 most influential Arabs for the third consecutive year.

“The region’s most highly recognizable face in 2011 is the multibillionaire businessman and philanthropist Prince Alwaleed Alsaud of Saudi Arabia,” said the magazine.

“In these troubled times it is clear Prince Alwaleed retains huge international respect for his efforts to bring together people of different cultures and religions, and for his generosity in alleviating suffering around the world…”

Prince Alwaleed is known for constantly exploring new and potential business opportunities and ventures in synchronization with the direction and fluctuations of the economic climate.

Consequently, KHC was listed on Tadawul in 2007 and Prince Alwaleed, who owns 95 percent of the company, has been involved in the creation of a diversified long-term investments portfolio of strategic stakes in well-known companies locally and around the world, in multiple sectors.

Prince Alwaleed’s recognitions span over a decade, including being featured in Forbes magazine’s 2011 annual list of richest people for 12 consecutive years and ranked number one in the Arabic issue of Arabian Business Magazine's 2010 Gulf’s 25 Most Powerful CEOs.

Prince Alwaleed was also ranked number one in Arabian Business Magazine's 2010 Power 100 list of the World’s Most Influential Arabs.
